Peter Pan

Today, I watched “Peter Pan”. I watched it many times when I was childhood. I liked this movie. My favorite character is Tinker Bell because she is very cute. This movie is Disney. It was shown to the public in 1953. It is so old.

This story has 3 children, Wendy, John and Michael. They believed that Peter Pan existed but their parents didn’t believe it. One day Peter Pan’s shadow hid their house so Peter Pan looked for it with Tinker Bell at night. However Wendy found him. She was excited because she met her favorite person. John and Michael came there so Peter Pan was found by brothers. Then Peter Pan took her to Neverland to take care of the Lost boys. But Peter and John wanted to go there together and she said she wouldn’t leave them. So they flew to Neverland using Tinker Bell’s sparkling powder. In Neverland, there is Captain Hook. He doesn’t like Peter Pan because he lost his left hand because of Peter Pan in past. He looked for Peter Pan’ house to get revenge. He thought Tiger Lily’s daughter knew where his house was so he would catch her. Then Peter Pan and Wendy went to meet the Mermaids. But he found Captain Hook there. He fought to save Tiger Lily and he won so he could take her back.

But Captain Hook didn’t give up. Next time, he caught Tinker Bell and the children. He said they would join his crew, or they would jump into the sea. Wend believed Peter Pan would help them so she chose to jump into the sea. When she fell into the sea, Peter Pan came there and he caught her. Finally, he fight Hook and he knocked him down. They escaped by a hairbreadth and children came back their house.

Mrs. Doubtfire

Today, I watched “Mrs. Doubtfire”. It is a comedy. It received an Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

 

Once, there was a man who has four people in his family. His name is Daniel. He was a funny person and he followed his dream. But he couldn’t become serious so he was fired by the TV Company he worked for. Also he held his child’s Birthday Party without approval of his wife, whose name is Miranda. So she was angry and she decided to divorce him. Then he had to find a new job and it was decided that he could meet his children once a week by the Divorce Court. He loved his children so he wanted to meet them more. Then he worked in the TV Company. His work was to carry films.

One day, he knew Miranda was looking for a housekeeper so he would become one to meet his children. He disguised himself as an old woman by special makeup. He made himself “Mrs Doubtfire”. Fortunately, his identity didn’t come out and he worked as a housekeeper in their house. He couldn’t cook at first so he learned it from a TV program and he became a good cook. Then Miranda started dating a former boyfriend. He was jealous so he interrupted their acquaintance. There is a happening. Her secret came out but he was allowed by Miranda so he could meet their children many times.

This movie is very interesting and funny! Daniel cleans while dancing so it is very exciting. Daniel loved children and he acted hard to please children. And he said “Adults don’t have to act like a child for children”. I agree with this thinking and I like Daniel very much. I wanted a father like him. He was played by Robin Williams. He appeared in “Night at the Museum”, “Good Will Hunting” and so on. I want to watch other movies.

Rent

 

 

Today, I watched “Rent”. It is a musical. It has been performed since 1996　Off-Broadway and it continued for 12 years and it was performed 1540 times. It is a　wonderful piece so it got Antoinette Perry Award.

After we will watch this movie, we think how to live in 525600 minutes. 525600　minutes is a year.

There is gay, lesbianism, people with drug addictions and HIV in the movie. They have　each personal problem. But they live freely and chase rainbows. Also they spend time　thinking about love in those 525600 minutes.

My favorite character is Angel because she is very charming and merry. He is gay. My　favorite scene is when she sings and dance. The song is a good tempo and her　performance is very cool. She dances on the desk and hits the pipe. It is very exciting for　me. Angel was very kind so she was loved by everyone. I want to become like her.

Also I like Maureen. She is a lesbian. But she is beautiful and she has confidence in　herself so she was very brilliant. And she lived freely. I respect her life choices.

I have watched musicals two times. First, I have watched “The Phantom of the Opera”.　Musicals are enjoying with listening to music so I like it. But slowly songs make me　sleepy. This time I slept many times over watching it so I watched it three times. But I　like to watch musical movie. I think I will watch more musicals from now on.

Today, I watched “The Sixth Sense”. It is a horror movie. The　leading actor is Bruce Willis. He is a famous actor around the world. He appeared many famous movies, such as, Die Hard, RED, Armageddon and others.

 

 

 

There is a doctor in the story. His name is Dr. Malcolm Crowe. One day, he was shot by a man whom he couldn’t redeem from 10 years ago. He was dispirited because he regretted it and it worsened his relationship with his wife. Then he met a boy who is　named Cole. Cole is like other person symptom so Dr. Malcolm wants to redeem him. At first, Cole talked about everything with　him. But he talked about himself gradually. And he talked about his secret to Malcolm. Actually, he can see dead people. Malcolm　was surprised and he couldn’t believe it. But he wanted not to　regret so he decided to believe him. And he taught Cole that the　ghosts need your help. Then Cole heard a ghost’s voice. A ghost girl asked him to hand over a videotape to her father. The　videotape showed the truth which was that his mother put poison in her meal. The father was surprised and sad. The girl’s sister　was in danger so the girl wanted to guard her sister. Cole helped her so he was happy and Malcolm was happy too. The movie has a happy end. But a different secret was hidden in the movie. In fact, Dr. Malcolm had died so he was a ghost! He helped Cole so he passed away without regret.

This movie is very interesting and I feel uneasy in the scene in which ghosts come out. And I thought that Malcolm passes away without regret is good. Cole and his mother lived at peace because he could confide his secret in her and his mother believes it.

To Kill a Mockingbird

I watched the movie “To Kill a Mockingbird” today. This is a very interesting movie for me. It was made by Robert Mulligan in 1962. The theme is segregation and this content is a little difficult so I didn’t understand without watching it two times.

The leading actor is Gregory Peck. He played Atticus. He came out the world of entertainment in 1944. He appeared “Roman Holiday”, “Duel In The Sun”, The

Paradine Case”, “The Guns of Navarone” and more. Roman holiday is a famous movie because Audrey Hepburn appeared in it. He is known that he is best as a co-star for her so he is a great actor. He serve as the president of many movie associations. Also he was a president on American Cancer Society.

There is a man who is a lawyer in Alabama. His name is Atticus. He would defend an African American who is called Tom at trial. But there is segregation in the town so he was criticized by people who live in the town. Atticus has two children, Scout and Jem.

They fight against their classmate and libel around people, but they are not beaten. It is that Tom assaulted on white woman. The jury in the trial are all white man so it was disadvantageous for Tom and Atticus and Tom said that he did not assaulted her with crying. Then this was a truth. Tom is right-handed person, but it was detected that a left-handed person hit the woman and her father is a left-handed person. Nevertheless she insisted that she was hit by Tom. Finally innocence of him wasn’t shown in the discriminating town. Also the movie has another story. Scout and Jem had a strange experience. They run away from somebody and they found the dolls which looks just like them in wood and they were attacked him.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Today, I watched “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”. It is an action and　an adventure movie. It was very exciting movie! It made me feel lively for the whole　movie. The main character is Indiana Jones. He is teacher at Princeton University and　he is a famous archaeologist. He looks for treasure in the world. Mr. Indy run away from　a big rock and he escape from pursuers and he was surround by blaze, so these were　very exciting for me.

This story is that he gets “the Lost Ark” with Abner Ravenwood who was his girlfriend　once. His pursuer “Toht” robs Indy if he finds the Lost Ark at once. They started an　adventure to get it back from Toht. After Toht got it, he opened the box but there was　only sand in it. Then the spirits got out from it. Toht and the party were murdered by　them. Indy and Marion were there but they escape by a hairbreadth because they closed　their eyes to not look at the spirits. When they opened their eyes, the spirits had cleared　and the box was recovered.

This is first movie in the Indiana Jones series. The produced cost 18 million dollars so　it is not so expensive but the income 380 million dollars so it was a big hit! It received　some Academy Awards. Indy was played by Harrison Ford and Marion was played by

Karen Jane Allen.

This movie was produced in 1981 by Steven Spielberg. He is a famous movie direction　in all over the world. He made “E.T.”, “Jurassic Park”, “Jaws” and so on. I watched them　and they were very interesting. Especially, I like Jurassic Park because the dinosaurs is　very real and very vigorous. And there is philosophy there about ethics and the　evolution of life so it’s very fascinating. He is a nice director because the period of　filming is short so the cost is kept down. There are few movies over one billion dollars.
